After looking back at our research so far, we can firmly say that we've come to a conclusion that the song that we're going to pursue into making into a music video, is Example's Kickstarts. With an artist such as Example. he borderlines the Indie/Dance target audience, yet he has that mainstream appeal. He also appeals to other sub-genres, such as the rap fan base which evidently creates a bigger audience for him.
In terms of each others music tastes (Bilaal and Laura), we felt like this song in particular is more or less a neutral liking, so it was easier coming towards a decision.
After analysing the four different videos in our research, we also came to the conclusion with the types of editing we would want to use in our video. Also, after looking into the Codes and Conventions of a music video from people such as Goodwin and Fraser, we now have a wider knowledge on what would make a good music video. We definitely want the video to establish a mood or feeling whilst watching, the editing to be fast paced and in line with the speed of the music, which considering the genre of our chosen song, it will have stationary paced editing to fast at the correct time. The idea of showing voyeursim is one which we think we can avoid because it's not a major selling point in a video. All in all, we will use the majority of codes and conventions.
I would like to see you extend your comments in the last paragraph a little more. What codes and conventions do you think you will need to try and incorporate? are there any you don't think matter so much? what techniques do you like and think you might use?
